(More customer reviews)This is a mostly a cookbook to accompany The Metabolism Miracle, but it actually includes all the basics of that diet in the first 97 pages with enough information that someone could do the plan based on this book alone. The recipes are low-carb, easy to make, and use regular ingredients readily found a local grocery store and include beverages, appetizers, soups, salads, various poultry, seafood, and meat main dishes; vegetarian entrees, breakfast dishes, snacks, and desserts. These are all different recipes than what are included in The Metabolism Miracle.
The only recipe I've tried so far is the spinach-feta (crustless) pie which I liked. There are several others I have bookmarked to try such as the snow peas with water chestnuts stir-fry and a crustless quiche. The recipes indicate whether they can be used for any or all of the three steps of the program, with step one being the most restrictive and steps two and three adding more foods to the plan.
As with most diet cookbooks, my only contention is the heavy use of artificial sweeteners such as Splenda for the desserts, something I avoid. Nutrition information such as calories, fat grams, etc. are not given for the recipes; only how many servings each recipe makes. That isn't an issue for me, but those who like to keep track of such things might be frustrated by their absence. There are a few color photos of some dishes in the middle of the book.
Overall, I do like this cookbook and think it is suitable for anyone wanting healthy recipes that happen to be low-carb.
