(More customer reviews)I happened to find this book when my then 19 year old son was facing heart surgery for aeortic valve replacement. I knew that he would be on coumadin for the rest of his life. It was after his surgery that I sought out the Coumadin Cookbook not only to educate myself but also to educate my son. Rene Desmarais' book is extensive on detail not only on the role of coumadin in the blood but what food items work like coumadin or counteract coumadin. Her recipes are based on keeping the blood thinning reaction of the coumadin at an even keel. This book is so very important for anyone who is taking coumadin and it is a book that is one of its kind. While there are hundreds of diabetes cookbooks, the Coumadin Cookbook is one of its kind. My only slight dismay is that the photos in the book are only of senior citizens which makes it a bit of a hard sell for the younger generation.
