For the past couple of months, I have been cooking exclusively from the Biggest Loser cookbooks and loving it. We (my husband, sons, and myself) have been impressed with every recipe (with one exception--I found out too late that we are not fans of blue cheese). The newest addition to the BL family of books, 6 Weeks to a Healthier You, is no exception. The book is written in an incredibly user-friendly format and features season 9 contestants from The Biggest Loser television program. Each week specifically targets a health issue, including the prevention and reversal of diabetes, lowering high blood pressure, cancer prevention, and boosting your immune system. As with many of the previous Biggest Loser books, each menu is accompanied by easy to follow instructions for exercising, valuable information and tips, and inspirational tidbits from The Biggest Loser contestants.
I admit that the main reason I purchased this book was for the recipes. Some of my family's favorites so far are: Sizzling Ginger Pork, Sweet Pepper-Chicken Sandwich, Berry-Licious Oatmeal, Banana Fudge Smoothie, Mexican Turkey Burgers, and My German Lover. Every recipe calls for readily available ingredients, the directions are simple to follow, and the results are delicious and healthy.
